The start-up idea came from Wassana Vilamas (Kate) and was begun in 2011 with a base of 3 rai land and one Buffalo named Thaeng-mo (watermelon). After presenting the VR project to her partner Thomas Lüscher, plans were developed to expand the concept. International connections were made and modern techniques were introduced to daily farming activities and the development of the combined ranch and farm gathered pace. From the start, the main idea is to achieve self-sufficiency based on proven biological farming principles. If you have good food, you have achieved the most important necessity for a good life.

Today the farm is grown to 32 rai and the entire farm is powered by the sun. We are using off-grid energy and the water system is generated by the nature. Vilamas Ranch is becoming the place for farm events with traditions and nature to be experienced. The natural choice for your next event.

Thaeng Moo was so far the first inhabitant of the "will-be" Vilamas Ranch. Originally "Vilamas Ranch" was just a small family business where Kate's sister Teaw and her husbund Joe carried on simple farming activitiesmainly growing Thai chili, rice and herbs to be sold at the local market.
